Al Zeina Al Raha Beach, a residential development by ALDAR set a benchmark as the most distinctive development within the area by adopting a state-of-the-art garbage (solid waste) management solution that adds property value, the STREAM Automated Waste Collection Systems(AWCS). Load stations are located within the building and communal areas, where occupants are able to dispose garbage conveniently. There are two load stations on each floor, Mixed Waste and Recyclable Waste. The load station comprises of volume controlled hopper door which is connected to the chutes, temporary storage chamber, discharge valve, primary air intake unit and a series of linked horizontal pipes, similar to the transport network. Waste is consolidated from several buildings into these sealed containers located at the Central Waste Handling Facilities (CWHF). The primary air intake unit is the entry point of air into the system that is used to convey the waste to the CWHF.
